What can you say about the lad Fernando? His pace and skill scare the living daylights out of opponents. I thought that he'd be good when Liverpool bought him, but i never expected him to score so many goals.

Let's see how Torres gets on next season, it will perhaps be more difficult because people know a bit more of what to expect from him. I hope he does well for Spain in the summer since as yet he has not been able to make a big impression with his national team.

Gracias para todos los momentos este ano el Nino y yo espero para mucho mas.

Bhutan appears to be an interesting place, wouldn't going to have a look for myself. Can't understand myself why the WEST isn't more bothered about happiness as opposed to economic growth. Intense competition amongst individuals creates societies with low levels of Serotonin.

Think it's a little harsh to point the finger solely at the US and UK as the growing gap between the rich and poor is more of a global issue. The beeb looked at the world's population and concluded that the income of the richest 1% of people is the same as that of the poorest 60%.

The recent Forbes' rich list also tells its own story. Four Indians, one Mexican, one Russia and only two US citizens in the top ten. If you you consider the size of those economies relative to the US it makes interesting reading.

The dude looks cool! I really hope that he does not stop now, he could set a record that will last forever. This is a fantastic achievement so far, it just shows what is possible if you put your mind to it!

It is funny to see just how how closely related the economy of the UK is to that of the US. Whether or not you want to call it a recession (some define it as 2 months of negative growth) is up to you, but whatever you name it, it is sure to be painful over the coming months.

Of course the past 10 years of growth was unsustainable and had to come to an end at some point. What goes up must come down, right! The fact that this excess was fueled by borrowed money always meant that it was living on borrowed time.

The US is a great country but it is not helped by it's insulated view of itself, reflected like a mirror through the media and film industries; continually perpetually the myth of the American dream.

The US has exported some great ideas to the rest of the world, but i fear that the UK has been too quick to adopt some of them. The worst thing is the discrepancy between the rich and the poor. This is a hugh stain on the US and now on the UK as well.

We over here would have been better off selecting some of the methods used in countries such as Sweden, Denmark and Holland where they have the majority of the population lives somewhere in the middle.

None of us wants to be poor and it is certainly not necessary to be rich, maybe one day we can overcome these extremes.

Hilarious. Not sure I would like this guy as my grocer

This article bodes the question, are world records of any use to society or just the indulgence of weird extroverts?

After the initial excitement of the US primaries, things appear to have slowed down for the time being. Mccain has the Republican nomination, Hilary and Barack are still fighting it out for the Democratic one.

The winner of this prolonged battle is likely to be John Mccain. How much damage is this doing to the Democrats as a party. Is it time for Hilary to concede for the good of her party and country?

Of course this is a special election, what with the possibility of either a women or a black man occupying the White House for the first time. Although their policies are really similar, Obama represents a real change. I think that America is ready for this change and now is the right time for it.

Bush, Clinton, Bush and then Clinton would hardly constitute change, and would also make a complete nonsense of the idea of America as a leading democracy. Well Mr Bush has tried his best to achieve this anyway.

The Bush years have been a complete disaster for America. His first election victory was very dubious, his second a joke. I remember at the time thinking how on earth could he be re-elected, who the hell would vote for him again?

The lead article above discusses this and i would like to give my own view on it.
I believe that each vote should in fact be given equal weight, but i don't believe that everyone in the US should have the right to vote. The educated people's of America, what with the vast majority living in the coastal areas, more than deserve the right to vote, the remainder of the country probably does not.

At least Religion will not play a big role in this election. The US is a conservative country with pockets of liberalism, let us just hope that commonsense prevails this time. The good news though is at least the three options are at a minimum okay. Good luck Barack Obama!
